Hornby Railways - The Story of Rovex Volume 3 (1972-1996) With Volume 3 we have arrived at 1972, Rovex Limited and the Margate factory in the hands of DCM. The product has been renamed 'Hornby Railways' but otherwise it is business as usual. We follow the story over the next 25 years including the collapse of DCM and Rovex becoming Hornby Hobbies Ltd, an independent company. Almost all of the products produced over this period are illustrated and the final chapter includes Thomas the Tank Engine, Hornby Minitrix and many other products produced or sold alongside Hornby Railways.
