The Great Book of Dinky 'Always something new from Dinky...' went the slogan, and so began the art of collecting this famous company’s miniatures. In the 1960s, collectors could buy the current models, but with a bit of searching they could discover older toys from the 50s or even the 40s. Mike Richardson was bought his first Dinky Toy, which he still has, at the outbreak of the Second World War. When supplies returned to the shops in 1945, he carried on collecting. It was not until the 1960s, however, that the rediscovery of some of his old toys, including some 36, 38, 39 and 40 cars, rekindled his interest. Nowadays, many collections are sold at public auction, and this book offers a complete, beautifully photographed, guide for the enthusiast. |
